Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies we use on thebikerbabies.com.
This Cookie Policy explains how The Metavision Multimedia Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (trading as The Biker Babies) uses cookies and similar technologies on thebikerbabies.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let a site remember things about your visit, such as what is in your basket. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage; references to "cookies" in this policy cover these too.
2. The categories we use
Strictly necessary
These are essential for the site to work and cannot be turned off in our systems. They are only used in response to actions you take, such as adding items to your basket or going to checkout. The site will not function correctly without them.
On this site: your basket (bb-cart-v1, kept in your browser's local storage) and Stripe's secure checkout, which runs on Stripe's own pages when you pay. We don't set any cookies of our own.
Functional
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your region or display preferences. If you disable them, some features may be unavailable.
On this site: the theme-tune player's track position, play state and volume (bb_theme_…, kept in local storage and reset after 24 hours), and whether you have closed the player for this visit (bb_theme_dismissed, kept in session storage and cleared when you close the tab). These stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
Analytics
We don't use analytics cookies. We count page visits with our host Netlify's server-side web analytics, which works from the requests our server receives: it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. We don't run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any other advertising tracker on this site.
Marketing
We don't use marketing or advertising cookies.
3. Third-party services that may set cookies
- Stripe — fraud prevention and secure payment processing during checkout.
- YouTube — videos load only when you press play. Until then we show our own preview image and nothing is requested from YouTube. Once you press play, YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) may set cookies.
These third parties are independent controllers for the data they collect via their own cookies. Their cookie practices are governed by their own policies.
4. How long cookies stay on your device
- Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them. We don't set any cookies of our own. Your basket is kept in local storage until you check out or empty it, and the theme-tune settings reset after 24 hours.
5. Managing your preferences
Because we only use strictly necessary storage (your basket, and the theme-tune player's on/off setting for your visit), we don't show a cookie banner. Videos are your choice: they load only when you press play.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The "Help" menu in your browser explains how — for example:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site, including the basket and checkout.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. We don't track you, so there is nothing for it to switch off. We don't show a cookie banner because we only use strictly necessary storage; you can still block or delete cookies and site data using the browser settings above.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add new tools that set cookies, or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page and, where required, re-prompt you for consent.
